It's both!
There are photographs; they show a lot of motion blur, but clear details are still visible. All photos are long exposures, taken with continuous light and flash. They are unedited and not composited in any way. They come out of the camera exactly as they appear here in the chapter Raw Material.
From these images, my raw material, I created a video.
The flow of the images and the movements arose from the arrangement of the pictures.
Their "fusion" was achieved through crossfading.
The color processing and distortions were created using video techniques.
